PERSONAL INTERESTS:

  • Sports: I have always enjoyed organized athletic events and have participated in a wide range of commpetitive sports from American Football, Mountain Biking, to Wrestling. I try to stay as active as my work schedule allows and attempt to excercise daily. Jogging, biking, and weight training are just a few of my favorite ways to stay in shape. If I'm not in my office, you can try to find me at the Student Recreation Center.
  • Tailgating: Ever since I came to Vanderbilt University (part of the SEC), I've been crazy about college football. The number one reason why I feel this way is tailgating. And just in case you're not familiar with the idea of meeting your buddies with a grill, charcoal, meat, and beer in front of the stadium prior to the big game, here a website for you to educate yourself - Maximum Tailgating.
  • Traveling: Exploring the world, I have been to various countries throughout Europe and the Americas. I was born in Germany, lived in the United States, and am currently residing in Brazil. I love experiencing new cultures, observing different customs, and making new friends. Learning a new language is always a challange that I'm willing to take on.
  • Astronomy: An introductory course in Astronomy and Astrophysics at Rose-Hulman made me appreciate a dark and stary night. The infinity of space is overwhelming, but the things one can see through a telescope are amazing! Here are some great pictures. Enjoy!
  • Bourbon: Kentucky Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey have a history and tradition as long and strong as the hangovers they cause. The Kentucky Bourbon Trail is an educational tour of several of the world's greatest distilleries. And although it won't make you love Rye, it will sure give you an appreciation of the fine spirits. I'm not a connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination, but I do enjoy a good Bourbon'n Coke.
  • Music: Living in Nashville, TN, I was surrounded by music, concerts, symphonys, and honkytonks. Nashville is the true music capital of the world, where anyone can find a favorite music venue. I know I did, Starwood Amphitheatre!
  • Water: I must have been a fish in a previous life. Anything from boating to snorkling to water skiing, I like being wet. The beach is my favorite spot and as long as my legs are hanging in the water, there's nothing else that could possibly make me happier. Give me a pool, a river, a lake, or the ocean and I'm in it. Extreme Watersports!
